The fire started October 23 and, so far, has  burned more than 10,000 acres and more than 600 residences are threatened in the Red Hill and Geyserville area. Mandatory evacuations are taking place for approximately 1,300 people.

“Cal OES continues to work closely with our federal, state and local partners to ensure there is resiliency for the communities affected by this fire,” said Mark Ghilarducci, Director of the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services. “California is here and ready to support the local communities with any needs as they arises.”

Cal OES Fire and Rescue, as well as Coastal Region personnel are currently responding in concert with other federal, state and local agencies to address emergency management and mutual aid needs for the incident. The critical fire weather has made an ideal environment for dangerous fire conditions throughout the region.
