Cal OES Fire and Rescue Pre-Position Resources in Anticipation of Critical Fire Weather

With elevated fire conditions in the forecast for parts of California, Cal OES Fire and Rescue staff have coordinated with counties to preposition fire apparatus and personnel to augment local resources in preparation for the upcoming significant weather event.

The following resources have been requested by the counties and approved by the California State Mutual Aid Pre-Incident Preparedness Guidelines.

 

OES Region I

Santa Barbara County (XSB) CA-OES-190094 1 Type III Strike Team (5 type III Engines). Staged in Central Santa Barbara. 1 Task Force (4 Type III Engines), staged in Buellton. 1 Helicopter at Santa Ynez. 1 Dispatcher. Start time 10/23/19 1700.

Ventura County (XVE) CA-OES-190095 1 Type III Strike Team (5 Type III Engines), staged in Camarillo. 1 Type I Crew, stage in Oxnard. 1 Dispatcher. Start time 10/24/19 0800.

Orange County (XOR) CA-OES-190096 Staged in Buena Park 1 Type I Crew Staged in Irvine. 1 Dispatcher. Start time 10/24/19 0800.

Los Angeles (XLC) CA-OES-190097 3 LG Type III Engines, Staged in Glendale. 1 Water Tender staged in Pasadena. 1 Dispatcher. Start time 10/24/19 0730.

 

OES Region II

Contra Costa County (XCC) CA-OES-190086 1 Type III Strike Team (5 Type III Engines), 1 Dozer, 2 Water Tenders, to be located in Central Contra Costa County. Start time 10/23/19 0800.

Lake County (XLK) CA-OES-190079 1 Dispatcher. Start time 10/21/19 0800.

Marin County (XMR) CA-OES-190081 1 Dispatcher Start time 10/23/19 0800.

Alameda County (XAL) CA-OES-190091 1 Water Tender. Staged in East Bay/Oakland Hills. 1 Dispatcher. Start time 10/23/19 0800

 

OES Region III

Colusa County (XCO) CA-OES-190084 1 Task Force (4 Type III Engines, 1 Water Tender). Staged at Williams Fire Station. Start time 10/23/19 0800

Tehama County (XTE) CA-OES-190085 1 Task Force (4 OES Type III Engines, 1 OES Water Tender). Staged in Red Bluff. Start time10/23/19 0800.

Sierra County (XSI) CA-OES-190089 1 Task Force (4 Type III Engines). Start time 10/23/19 1000. Staged at Downieville Fire Dept. Start time10/23/19 1000.

 

OES Region IV

Calaveras County (XCA) CA-OES-190083 1 Task Force (4 Type III Engines, 1 Water Tender). Staged in San Andreas. 1 Dispatcher. Start time 10/23/19 0800.

 

OES Region VI

San Diego County (XSD) CA-OES-190087 1 OES Type III Strike Team (5 Type III Engines), 1 LG Type III Strike Team (5 Type III Engines) Staged in Northern and Southern San Diego County. 1 Helicopter, 1 Incident Management. Start time 10/23/19 2200.

San Bernardino County (XBO) CA-OES-190088 1 OES Type I Strike Team (5 Type I Engines), 1 OES Type III Strike Team (5 Type III Engines), 2 Dozers, 1 Type 2IA Crew. Staged at BDC Camp 6 Glen Helen.  1 Dispatcher. Start time 10/23/1800.

Riverside County (XRI) CA-OES-190093 2 Type III Strike Teams (5 Type III Engines per ST), staged at Ben Clark Trng. Center Start time 10/23/19 2000.

Resources are either en route or in place.

 

The public is reminded to remain aware of their surrounding conditions and to have an emergency plan in place, emergency preparedness kits at home and vehicles full of fuel.

The California State Warning Center, Cal OES Regions and Cal OES Fire and Rescue Branch will continue evaluating conditions to be ready for further support resource requests as necessary throughout the weather event.
