Cal OES Assistant Chief Presented With Lifetime Achievement Award

Cal OES Assistant Chief Charles “Chuck” Tobias was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Continuing Challenge Hazardous Materials Workshop in Sacramento this week.

“It’s really quite an honor”, said Tobias.   “To be recognized by your peers after 38-years of service and over 20-years in the Hazardous materials field, it’s incredible to be honored like that. I feel very humbled.”

“I’m representing Cal OES for the last year and-a-half and we have done some wonderful things in Special Operations for fire and rescue.  I think that had a lot to do with receiving the award as well,” said Tobias, who is currently an Assistant Chief with the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services in the Special Operations and HazMat Section.

“I love the job. 38-years later and I still enjoy coming to work, still love everything I do. I like helping.”
