Big Basin Redwoods State Park Begins Recovery After CZU Lightning Fire

Recovery after a wildfire can take many forms and include both man-made and natural resources. Big Basin Redwoods State Park in the Santa Cruz Mountains is closed until further notice due to the CZU Lightning Complex Fire in August, but is already showing signs of recovery. Home to one of the few remaining old growth redwood forests in the country, Big Basin is the oldest state park in California and home to giant redwoods that are over 1,500 years old. This was not the fire wildfire these trees have been through. We learn more about their future and the future of Big Basin State Park in this video.
