Updates to Disaster Recovery Centers as Recovery Moves Forward

Published:

Following a federally declared disaster, local, state and federal resources are offered at a single location called a Disaster Recovery Center (DRC). These centers are important for survivors to receive support, replace vital documents, sign up for assistance and more.

Multiple DRCs opened on January 14, one week after the LA wildfires began. Since then, these centers have helped thousands of survivors on the road to recovery.

Starting Thursday, May 1, resources offered by state agencies currently at DRCs will transition to being available online only and at some existing field offices.

FEMA and the U.S. Small Business Administration will continue to have in-person staff, as will the following County departments: Assessor, Mental Health, Public Health, Public Works and Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk.
