A Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Mobile Registration Intake Center will open in Auburn Thursday, September 9 and in Colfax Friday, September 10 through Saturday, September 11, to serve River Fire survivors in Placer County.
The intake center is part of the ongoing response and recovery mission for FEMA and the state of California to assist survivors with disaster information.
On Thursday, September 9 the intake center will be located at the OES/Finance Admin Building at 2986 Richardson Drive, Auburn, CA 95603. Friday, September 10 through Saturday, September 11, the intake center will be located at the Sierra Vista Community Center at 55 School Street, Colfax, CA 95713. The centers will be open Thursday and Friday from 10am-7pm and Saturday from 9am-4pm.
The center is a temporary site to support survivors with disaster information. It offers an optional opportunity for survivors to register for federal assistance, especially those without access to internet or telephone services.
Survivors also may register with FEMA in one of three ways:
- Online at DisasterAssistance.gov;
- By downloading the FEMA app to a smartphone or tablet; or
- By calling the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362 (TTY 800-462-7585) between 4 a.m. and 8 p.m. PST.
- The helpline staff can also answer questions about applications already submitted.
- Deadline to register for assistance under DR-4610 is October 25, 2021.
Registration enables FEMA to determine residents’ eligibility for financial assistance that may include rent, home repair, home replacement and other serious disaster-related needs such as childcare, transportation and medical, funeral or dental expenses.
