Disaster Assistance Loans Available to Businesses and Residents Affected by the Jan. 31 to Feb. 9 Storms

As a part of on-going recovery efforts across the state, the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Service’s (Cal OES) continues to assist and serve communities in the aftermath of disasters.  

On May 16, 2024, at California’s request, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is now offering low-interest federal disaster loans to businesses and residents affected by severe storms, tornadoes, flooding, landslides and mudslides that occurred between January 31, 2024 – February 9, 2024.  

The assistance is available to both rural and non-rural areas in Butte, Los Angeles and Santa Cruz counties.  

A Virtual Disaster Loan Outreach Center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at FOCWAssistance@sba.gov or by calling (916) 735-1501. 

Applicants may apply online and receive additional disaster assistance information at SBA.gov/disaster. Applicants may also call SBA’s Customer Service Center at (800) 659-2955 or email disastercustomerservice@sba.gov for more information on SBA disaster assistance. For people who are deaf, hard of hearing or have a speech disability, please dial 7-1-1 to access telecommunications relay services. 

The deadline to apply for property damage is July 16, 2024. The deadline to apply for economic injury is Feb. 18, 2025.
