Businesses and nonprofit organizations affected by the Los Angeles wildfires may be eligible for up to $2 million in low-interest federal disaster loans through the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). The application deadline is October 8, 2025.
The Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) program provides financial assistance to businesses, private nonprofits, small agricultural cooperatives, nurseries, and faith-based organizations that have experienced economic losses directly related to the wildfires. These loans are available even if no physical damage occurred.
Funds can be used for a variety of working capital needs, including:
- Paying fixed debts
- Covering payroll
- Managing accounts payable
- Meeting other operational expenses that could not be covered due to the disaster
- Up to $2 million in assistance
- Terms of up to 30 years
- Interest rates as low as 3.625% for nonprofits and 4.00% for businesses
- No payments due for the first 12 months, and no interest accrual during that period
The EIDL program is available to eligible entities in the following California counties: Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, Ventura, and Kern.
