Christina Curry Named Acting Chief Deputy Director

Today, Deputy Director Christina Curry, who has served the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services in a variety roles for nearly three decades, was appointed as acting Chief Deputy Director, announced Cal OES Director Mark Ghilarducci.

Curry has served with Cal OES for more than 28 years, starting as an intern and elevating to Deputy Director. Most recently, she has served as the Deputy Director overseeing Preparedness, Prevention, Planning and Training and represents Cal OES on multiple Boards and Commissions and routinely engages with the Governor’s Office on complex matters.  

“She is an experienced emergency manager, having been involved in the response and or recovery of every disaster and emergency that the state has dealt with since the 1994 Northridge earthquake,” said Director Ghilarducci of Curry. “She has had an exemplary career, is highly respected and has been an instrumental leader in making sure that the Agency and our Cal OES family has remained on a positive, professional and successful pathway.”

Chief Deputy Director Grace Koch announced her retirement on Sept. 28 after 31 years of state service.

“We thank her for all she has done for Cal OES, through her dedication, commitment and unwavering leadership,” Director Ghilarducci said of Koch.

The acting appointment of Curry to Chief Deputy Director is effective immediately.

    After 100 billion on high speed rail.. They have to raise taxes to cover there bankruptcy.. Because of Jerry Brown.. Was a fool
