The California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) is working proactively to preposition fire engines, dozers, water tenders, helicopters and personnel in central and southern California amid elevated heat and critical fire weather conditions in coastal and inland areas through Sunday.

Firefighting resources prepositioned in Inyo, Kern, Los Angeles, Nevada, Plumas, San Diego, Santa Barbara, San Bernardino, Sierra and Ventura counties, coordinated by Cal OES, include:

24 Cal OES fire engines

40 Local Government Engines

2 Cal OES Water Tenders

15 Local Government Water Tenders

9 Local Government Bulldozers

5 Local Government Helicopters

10 Local Government Hand Crews

16 Local Government Dispatchers

2 Local Government Incident Management Teams

With critical fire weather across the state, it’s an important reminder to be prepared for wildfire any time of the year.
