Bringing together seismic experts and state leaders, the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES), through the Alfred E. Alquist Seismic Safety Commission, is meeting on Thursday, January 11 in Sacramento.

The Alfred E. Alquist Seismic Safety Commission was established in 1975 to advise the Governor, Legislature, state and local government agencies, and the public on ways of reducing earthquake risk to the people of California. The Commission is composed of 15 Commissioners appointed by the Governor, chosen for their expertise and experience.
