Several more rounds of rain and snow will return to much of northern and central California through early Monday. Scattered thunderstorms through Saturday and Sunday could bring accumulating small hail, especially across the Central Valley.
An additional ½ to 1 ½ inches of rain is predicted for the lower elevations for northern and central areas of the state, with 2 to 3 inches for the mountains and foothills below 5,000 feet. Snow accumulation of 2 to 5 feet over the Sierra Nevada is expected, with the heaviest amounts above 7,000 feet.
