Cal OES Approves More than $390,000 in Reimbursements to Reclamation District #800 for Repair of Levee Damaged by Heavy Rains on New Year’s Eve 2022

SACRAMENTO — The California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) today announced the  approval in February of more than $390,000 in reimbursements through the California Disaster Assistance Act (CDAA 2023-01) to help Reclamation District #800 cover the costs of emergency repairs to levees along the Consumnes River near Wilton breached by flooding generated by heavy rains on New Year’s Eve 2022.

The reimbursements include:

  1. $215,826.75 is 75% of the approved $287,769.00 to help the district cover the costs of its contract with the National Resource Conservation Service’s Emergency Watershed Program for emergency levee repairs to 10 sections of the southern levee in the area of Lee School Road that suffered erosion damage during the storm.
  2. $21,582.68 to help the district cover project related administrative costs.
  3. $139,498.50 is 75% of the approved $185.998.00 to help the district cover the costs of its contract with the National Resource Conservation Service’s Emergency Watershed Program for emergency levee repairs in the area of Fig Road.
  4. $13,949.85 to help the district cover project related administrative costs.

CDAA reimbursements are usually based on actual costs incurred by the applicant and provided as work is completed and documentation is submitted to Cal OES.
