As Communities Face Impacts of Recent Storms, Cal OES Prepositions Flood Fighting Resources

Following significant storm impacts across the state, the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) is proactively coordinating the prepositioning of flood fighting personnel to be available if needed.

Widespread rain and heavy mountain snow will continue through today with lighter precipitation north. Isolated to scattered thunderstorms are possible across Central and Southern California, bringing potential locally heavier precipitation, small hail, and gusty winds. Very strong winds from the Central Coast into Southern California will continue.

Wind gusts of 60 – 80 mph over the higher elevations. Gusty winds will persist into Wednesday across Imperial County.

A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for the higher elevations of Siskiyou and Del Norte County for Thursday, March 23 and Friday, March 24.
