A Local Assistance Center Opens in Ventura County for the Mountain Fire

In partnership with Ventura County, the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) opens a Local Assistance Center (LAC) for the Mountain Fire at the Ventura County Office of Education Conference & Education Services Center on Thursday, November 14.

LACs are activated following disasters to support survivors and businesses suffering disaster-related losses or damages.
Each center is locally operated with support from state agencies, federal partners and non-profit organizations.

Operational period: 11/14/2024 through 11/23/2024

Hours of Operation: Monday thru Saturday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. (CLOSED SUNDAYS)

State Agencies:

  • California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV)
    • Can assist with replacing lost or destroyed driver’s license
  • California Employment Development Department (EDD)
    • Can assist with disaster unemployment due to impacts from the fires
  • California Department of Public Health (CDPH)
    • Can assist with attaining vital documents and public health information
  • California Franchise Tax Board (FTB)
    • Can assist with disaster tax information
  • California Department of Insurance (CDI)
    • Can assist with attaining vital documents and assist with insurance claims
  • Contractors State License Board (CSLB)
    • Can provide a list of authorized contractors who are verified to assist with rebuilding
  • California Department of Veteran Affairs (Cal Vet)
    • Can provide services to Veterans
  • Department of Housing and Community Development (TENTATIVE)
    • Can provide disaster housing information
