The California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) today announced the deployment of funds and is now accepting applications for over $22.5 million in grant funds to bolster cybersecurity at a state and local level.
The State and Local Cybersecurity Grant Program (SLCGP) provides state and local governments and federally recognized tribal nations, with funding to address cybersecurity risks and threats to information systems and improve security of critical infrastructure and resilience of the services these entities provide to their communities.
Previously, California has taken steps to increase California’s cybersecurity resiliency. This includes the development of CAL-SECURE, the State of California’s first multi-year cybersecurity roadmap
STEPS TO APPLY FOR FUNDING
The new request for proposals can be found on the Cal OES website, which administers the program. Eligible organizations include state and local government, including school districts and special districts, and federally recognized tribes. Interested applicants are encouraged to learn more by attending one of four upcoming informational webinars. Proposals must be received electronically by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27.
